I need to know if John Deere ever made a line of pto/belt driven corn shellers. I have recent acquired a sheller but so far I haven't found any markings on it to indicate the manufacturer, model, etc. My only clue so far is that it was green but it's so faded I can't tell if it was JD green or not. I haven't gotten it completely dis-assembled yet so I may find a better sample of the original color.
Anyone got any ideas?

I can't believe that nobody mentioned the JD #6. In real corn country, these were used almost exclusively by custom shellers, as well as seed corn companies.

I bought a JD #43 corn sheller last spring at an auction.Cost $150.00.First green machine ever on our farm.Works very good.Converted to fast hitch to hook to our farmalls. All parts were there .Just greased it and put it to work.Has conveyer chain with rubber paddles to carry away cobs and husks.Blower and 3" pipe to blow shelled corn into gravity wagon. Can shell over a ton an hour with out any problem. However my Super C starts missing and tries to run on 2 cylinders.....Putt,Putt,Putt :) A.J.

yeah...what willie said!
Here in iowa #7 or #71 models were usually seen.
I spent several summers in the 70's around a #71 mounted on a SCREAMING V-6 GMC st. truck. It seems like JD's were more popular in so.iowa and MM's were used more in no. iowa but those two were usually the only ones ever seen. Also the grain quality from a sheller is far superior to what comes out of a combine. My 2-cents!

I have a JD 71 PTO sheller built in the early 1960's.

Yes, John Deere made Belt and PTO driven corn shellers.
Some of them would be the, No. 3, No.7, No.9, 43,
