Hi Guys! I just bought a different tractor about 3 weeks ago and am now looking for a baler. I would like to hear your comments on a JD 530 roundbaler with monitor. I called the guy on it this morning, he said he bought it up north, around northern missouri. He said paint is good on it etc. It is the twine tie (i was looking for a net wrap, but at this price i think i can live.) He saids in real good shape, He wants 5500 for it has the monitor and all. Is that to much? I have a 2555 that i bought, they put it on the dyno up here at the local deere dealer and they said it dynoed at 82 hp. I guess this is adequite enought for the baler? The 2555 has cab air/heat so i cant wait to start baleing with it!! Thanks for the help guys. TTYL

The 530 Deere roller is the best older roller that you can buy. The price sounds great! Your tractor may lug down a little bit going up a hill when pulling the roller but at 82 hp it should do the job. I do custom rolling with a 7410 John Deere and a 535 roller.

If you bale at maximum hyd. pressure on baler and full size(6 ft. tall)bales you are going to have problems with a JD2555 because that is way above JD's advertised HP.I custom bale with a JD 4255(120 advertised HP) and a JD 467 baler at full pressure and every once in a while I can hear governor open. Two variables are ground speed and size of windrow.I bale 5-6 mph depending on ground.Jim B
