Hey Aggie, what class year?. Your trailer either has a flat connector, 1-1\4 X 1\4 thick from it, or for GMC and Chevy, a standard round female connector 6 lead gray metal connector. You can get both at Walmart. Get an electric brake controller as per the other post. A good ground(s) is the key on any wiring on this. Of course make sure your trailer has brakes, should be on the rear hubs on a two axle.

Gig'em and good luck.

Aggie you will need a brake control it does'nt just plug in to your truck and work.

I linked in a site with controllers and wiring adapters.
