Disk level

I got an old 10 foot disk harrow, probably an IHC. The front row of disks cut in pretty good but the back is hardly touching the ground. There is a frozen crank above and behind the hitch and I wonder if that is supposed to adjust the hitch
height and help lower the back. I also am going
to try lowering the hitch to another set of bolt holes. Any suggestions?

I managed to turn that crank one turn with a pipe wrench and that seemed to help. I am going to work on it some more. Thanks for your tips.

The crank you described on the hitch is used to level the disk. You will need to loosen it up in order to get the disk to work right. The front gangs will do the majority of the cutting. The rear gangs are used primarily for leveling.
