Just saw an auction bill for a farm sale coming up near me in a couple of weeks. This is one of those "drag the stuff out of the barn after it has been unused for 30 years because the estate is finally settled and we sold the land" sales. A Black Hawk corn picker was advertised. First time I ever heard of a picker from this company. Seen a few of their corn planters, though. Anybody know what age it is or anything about it? I've already got a couple of New Idea pickers, so I won't be bringing it home no matter how cheap it sells. I was just curious, since it's seems so uncommon.

The Blackhawk Corp. was purchased by Cockshutt (a Canadian tractor and implement company) in 1956. Cockshutt put the Blackhawk name on their tractors that year, and continued to sell their implements. Good quality stuff, from all that I have heard.

Here's the link. Haven't seen any of the machinery yet so don't know if the picker's good, junk, or what.

Circa 1950s-60s. Marketed by some midwest coops.
