Is a '65 FORD 3000 diesel rated at about 40 HP enough to pull a 8' tandem (4 gangs of 7 plates) disk in sand? I tried to get a 6 footer but this one came up pretty cheap. Thanks.

you shouldnt have any problems and could easily pull the disk in the heaviest soils with the 3000

Pull a 8 footer with a Farmall 200, good in all but the deepest sand. You should have no trouble with your setup!

Thanks. I saw a Massey 65 today and thought maybe I should get it and sell my Ford 3000, but I really like the Ford and your comment makes me feel a little better.

A buddy of mine has a 3000 diesel and they swear by it. They do custom baling in the summer and use it to farm their 80 acres. One great point about the 3000 is it's great fuel economy.
