This is my second mower post. See J.D. No. 5 mower below.

I have been looking for a three point mower to use on my 860 Ford. Was kind of looking for a NH 450 or 451 but in the process I have run across what I think might be a good deal on an IHC mower but don't anything about it. I don't have a model no. but it is a 3 point hitch, 7 ft bar, belt drive from the back of the drive to the wobble box at the bar. It seems to be in good shape, appears to not have been used a great deal as I see no signs of wear to speak of. The wobble box seems tight. I will try to find out what model it is but wonder if anyone can give me any clues from the description what it might be or how to identify it. If you think you can tell from the discription was this a good design mower and any idea of value.
I realize this is a little vague without a model no but I know there are a lot of knowlegeable people here. Any thing is appreciated. If I can find out the model I will post it later. Thanks REMMo.

The mower you refer to does not have a pitman arm, am I right? Belt drive right to a wobble gear at heel of cutter, right or wrong.

I just got out book 150 Years of IH by CH Wendel. He lists several models of this type of mower 100, 105, 110, 115, 120, 200 and 230. I remember there was a mounted 3 point hitch model, Mounted fast hitch, centre mount and trailer. There were also 7 and 9 foot bars. I had a 7 foot centre mount, was a nice working mower. It mowed a lot of hay and was very fast for a sickle mower. I cant remember which model number goes with various configurations. The actual mowing mechanism was same on all of them. These mowers with 3 diget model numbers were built in the 1960's In the 1970's looks like the same mowers were given new model numbers 4 diget numbers as follows; 1000, 1100, 1105, 1110, 1150, 1200, 1300 and 3110. After typing this far I believe my mower was a model 110.

I appreciate the responses. It has no pitman just the belt. Looks like the mower could mow even with the bar straight up. I will try to find out what model it is. It sounds like it might be worth trying to get. I've always found if the condition and price is right you cant loose too badly. Thanks REM

ps. Are manuals still available for thr older IH mowers.

Yes it will mow with the bar in vertical position. They were great for keeping the bushes trimed back along the edge of a field. I never had any problems with wobble gear in my mower although will admit it was loose at the end. My mower also had seen a lot of hours.

I believe you could still get a manual from CaseIH or Binder books. If you don't have any luck with manual, e-mail me there is a guy near me has just about all in manuals. If you take the model numbers I listed to a CaseIH dealer you should be able to pick it out from his parts books. To help you a bit more I just found an IH 1983 buyers guide and it lists the 3 point hitch mowers of that year as 1000, 1100 and 1300. The 3106 I mentioned earlier is a rotary disc mower.

Not sure how many different models made like that but we used to have one cant remember the model number but it was a good mower. The bearings finally went out on the wobble box so check them closely (I dont really think they were any fault of the mower) it had lots of hours on it. Brian
