Hi Folks. I was just wondering if anyone out there knows what happend to the Bearcat line? We still have an old rollermill and its still going strong. I was just wondering if anyone knew where they went. They sure built some heavy duty equipment in their day. Please post if you know anything about them! Thanks:)

Is this the Bearcat you're talking about?

Hello there, sorry thats not my old Bearcat lineup. They made feed mills, rollermills, and flail choppers in the 60's and 70's. But thanks to those that replied with information regarding Bearcat. Thank you!

I cant say I know what happened to them. I do know that you can still get parts for at least some of their equipment, at least as of a year ago you could. We have a 12ft bearcat cultimulcher with western land roller company stickers on it. Ours is considered to be a sprocket packer. There is a small equipment dealer close to our farm that sells parts for them. I have yet to find another brand of cultimulcher that is built as heavy as that bearcat. We searched for a cultimulcher for quite some time till we found this one. In the process we looked at IH,JD,Brillion,Kewanee, and others, but none of those were built as heavily. It is quite interesting in that the lever that raises and lowers the teeth has a built in mounting for a hydraulic cylinder to be added if needed. Have a good one.

yup, your right, they was the Caddalic of hammermills in the 50s and 60s. I only knew of one though around the Atchison Kans, St. Joe Mo area and it was owned by a local grain elevator back in the 40s and 50s and 60s, but they quit using it by the 60s. Wish I knew where it went. Junk probably. I use an old side mount gehl that ive had for 33 yrs.

Saw a brandy-new BearCat grinder-mixer this spring on a dealer lot. Said McConnell Manufacturing, Prattsburg, New York on it. McConnell apparently still makes the Western Land Roller line of packers and roller harrows, as well as some potato planting, harvesting and grading equipment, and sells the MARC line of tractors. McConnell also recently gained an interest in Arts-Way.
