I am needing a pto shaft for my Ferguson DEO 20 hay rake, broke the u-joint and the coupler. Can't get anything to match at Deere, NH, or AGCO dealer, any suggestions?

you might try a NAPA auto parts store if there is one near you. here in se texas, they seem to have a fair selection of u-joints and yokes. maybe even try some of the off brand tractor dealers such as LONG or MAHINDRA or even some of the compact japanese tractor dealers. who knows you might just get lucky. also if you happen to have any individuals that do restoration it may be worth it to ask them or they might direct you where you can find what you want. never hurts to ask. good luck.

Last year I had to find a replacement for the PTO end of my DEO 20 as well.

Took me a month or two, but I found one on an old, junker, no-name brush-hog that fit just fine. Just write down all the measurements you can get off the old one and carry it around with you in your wallet and keep your eyes open.

Hopefully it isn't haying season wherever you're at, and you've got all winter to find the part.

good luck,
Tom

I bought a DEO 25 rake at an auction last spring. It was missing half the driveshaft (the half that goes from the rake to the tractor). I stopped on the way home at a MF dealer. They looked at the driveshaft half that I had and said "they don't make that style anymore". So I bought all new driveshaft parts and built a new one. The biggest obstacle was getting the old yoke off the rake shaft. I tried everything. I finally took the whole assembly off the rake and took it to my machinest friend. He put it in his 50 ton press and at 20 tons it finally gave. I really like the rake. If you need teeth for it, get the same style as the MF 36 rake (MF dealers still have parts books for the 36 but not always for the old Ferguson DEO 20 and 25 rakes).
