I am going tomorrow to look at a Grizzly 3-Pt. backhoe and was looking for any information on the manufacturer or the backhoe. Do not have a model number or any real info on it yet. If someone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Tom

I have a Grizzly 3pt backhoe unit. I tried for some time to locate the manufacturer but with no avail; they must be out of business. I have never really been able to use mine cause it always seems to break something or just not work right. I think it is a good unit, heavy built, but you just have to get a good one. One thing to check for sure, is the top boom swing bearing; mine had a ball bearing unit in it when I bought it and it was broken. Found a replacement bearing ($60), put it back together and it lasted about 5 minutes. Finally wound up having a machinest make a replacement unit with a non-metallic sleeve bushing like they use on front loader buckets. Also, check out the boom swing rack. There is a small shoulder type bolt which acts as guide for the rack. If it breaks off, the rack rides up and pushes the top big bull gear off of the splined shaft. I made a new guide assembley to hopefully eliminate this problem. The hydraulics have to be set up for a closed-center or an open-center system to match what you have on your tractor. Good luck.
