I am restoring a small Krause tandem disc it is a 9 footer with smaller frame tubing than the 10 12 and 14 footers and was wondering how common these are I have only seen three and the third one that I seen I bought. Are these popular anywhere or are they just a rare item? I am really curious. Richard.

Contact Krause at: www.krauseco.com

Krause sold mostly larger units in the Midwest, but did sell some products through distributors in the East and West.

I had an 18' Krause with fold up wings in the late 70s. In West Central Illinois, at this time 12' to 21' Krause discs of this size were fairly common. I don't recall ever seeing one under 12', but I sure wouldn't say there wasn't such, depends alot on the area you're in.

If I remember correctly the Krause disc came on the market about 25 years ago. I haven't seen a new one in recent past. I think they sold a quite a few of them on the east coast of Canada. Most of the ones I remember were 7 to 9 foot 3 point hitch models. I always thought as a small disc they looked like a good product. I have never seen their larger discs. Cockshutt and Bush Hog seemed to have the large disc market sewed up in our part of the world.
