What is the diffence between a NH 68 and a Super 68?
If a guy got ahold of a super 68 as a parts rig could he update the reg 68 with the parts?

I have worked on more 68 and Super 68 balers than I care to remember. BOTH balers use the wooden slides on the plunger. The balers are almost identical. The sheet metal right above the feeder gearbox is different. You can switch just about every part from a 68 to a Super 68. There are some minor differences, but whole components would switch from one to another. Steve

I have a NH 68 hayliner,,I have used almost all the parts from my NH Super 68 parts machine to keep my 68 going,,including the hitch and gear box,,the one main difference I have seen is that the Super 68 has a rope that goes around a shaft ,when you pull the rope it lifts the hay pickup. My 68 doesnt have this,I have been using these old new holland balers for years , they are either very cheap or free here. So parts are common. I have a 66 and a super 66 as well...Jim

The Super 68 does have wooden slides same as the 68. The Super 69 has bearings on the plunger,on the ones that I have worked on and according to the parts books and really there is not much difference except for the convience controls and just a few little things was changed. Hope this helps

The have the literature my dad got when he bought our Super 69. It also has the Super 67 in it. THE SUPER 67 HAS SEALED ROLLERS ON THE PLINGER!!
The Super 67 was not as nice of baler as the Super 69 but in ways it's the same baler.

The New Holland SUPER balers have rollers on the plunger. Also the Super has a long hitch. The 68 has wood slides on the plunger. Most other parts from a 68 will fit a Super 68

Can you put the plunger off a S68 on to a regular 68? Seems to me rollers would be better than wood slides.

yessir the roller bearing plungers will fit back in the slider plungers place with no modifications at all.

I've got a 68 and a Super 68. The plunger bearings is the main difference. The 68 is on wood sliders and the Super is on roller bearings. That and the rope pickup on the Super like Balerman said.

Yes! rollers are much better. I'm not sure if you can put a plunger of a S68 in a 68 it would be a big job if you could.

If you can find a S68 S69 270 or 271 you will have a good baler for the money.
