What is the correct procedure for sharpening bush hog blades? Is balancing the blades involved, if so, how should it be done?

Thanks

You can do it on the mower if you have enough room and block up the chopper so it doesn't creep down(just incase). Take a angle grinder and grind the edge back. Don't get them real sharp, you're just wasting time cause they'll just dull faster. Just get a decent slightly rounded edge.

I do not know what the correct procedure is what I do is touch them up on the machine. If they are getting beat up bad and need a lot of sharpning I take them off and have a guy that rebuilds the edges for me. He then heats and beats an edge on them. He would then weigh the blades for balance, and either grind or build up a bead. Not sure this was necessary but his desire was to do it as right as possible. I guess I should say I used to take them to a guy He has moved recently.
