I would like to know the 3 pt.lift cap.of a Ford 601 series tractor.I've checked the manuals,NH service people,and others,when there's an opinion,it varies.I'm looking at some equip.and don't want to overload the tractor.Thanks in advance.

The 8N that we use has a rated lifting capacity of 700# from what I can remember from the specs. A 5' Jr. Brushog or a 80" wide 2 gang disc is about all I care to hang on the back although we do use a jib hoist quite a bit. I'm sure the 601 is rated at least as high if not higher.

I have never seen a Ford 601, but would guess that if it can pull it, it can more than pick it up. That is usually the case with tractor hydraulics. Depending on how light the front end is for 3 pt stuff, and how big the cylinder is for hydraulic lift equipment. Let us know what you are looking at and how much HP the tractor has and we might be of more help.

The 601 (1959) is a little longer, and heavier than an 8N(about 3000#),around 35 hp.I've been looking at some equip.approaching 900+ lbs.I'm pretty sure it'll pick it up,but was wondering what the recommended capacity was supposed to be.
Thanks
