Anyone out there know which of the older combines might have used Chrysler flathead 6-cylinder engines that were the "short" or 23" long block? These were also used in a lot of old tractors too.

Mike: How is the prairie guy with salt in his blood? I thought all combines except Deere and IH had Crysler flat heads, but then I am no combine expert.

I never knew that about the Chrysler flatheads and combines. Maybe you're right. What's this about salt in my blood ... are you reading my mail?

Actually there is a fellow in Ohio who contacted me looking for a manifold for the engine on his Love tractor (ever hear of those)? I will let him know of your response here and he could contact you through your email link if that's OK.

Massey Harris used Chrysler industrial engines.
The Massey Harris 60 S.P. had a 230.2 cu. in. L head 6 cylinder.
I had a Piere governor. You had to oil it. It did not get oil from the engine.

Other Massey Harris combines also used Chrysler engines.

Cockshutt 112SP combines used a Chrysler Industrial engine, but we were told that it had a slightly larger piston and slightly longer stroke than the U.S. version. No muffler, just a long vertical exhaust pipe; I loved the sound of that engine when it was working.
