I am in the process of building a set of front forks to put on a Ford 730HD loader. I plan on removing bucket and installing a set of front forks, I am building them out of 3" by 4" tubing. My question is how long should these forks extend out? Right now they are 48" should I reduce the length? all help appreciated.

The length depends on what you're going to move with them, most wood pallets are 4 ft long and if you're going to move round bales I would measure some bales around your area and then make them at least 6 inches longer. Also you say you are going to use tubing, I would consider solid shaft and weld heavy tubing to your frame then bolt the shafts to the frame, that way if they bend or you need longer/short ones just remove the bolts and slide out. just thought I'd give some pointers chris
