For my Farmall H
This is what I've got so far.
I need a small one 7' max cut.
Hydralics just raise the pick up not the whole machine.

What models fit this bill?
Also will I be able to find one in my $500 max price range?
Oh I do have a M&W hand clutch on the way here as we speak.

Kelly: I hink you have hit the nail on head, with one exception, ability of the H liftall. In 1955 my dad had a Farmall H with loader. he purchased a Farmall 300 and wanted to transfer that loader to the 300 for the live hydraulics. That same loader on 300 would never lift as well as it did on the H. At that time the 300 was new and H being a 51 was only 4 years old. A neighbour had a SM with same loader and would also lift better than 300. I remember the dealer changing several items on 300, it still never lifted as well as H. My feeling is the guy giving you advise on lift all may have something wrong in hydraulic system. These tractors are now 50 years old + or - . I think one should not compare one on one. Yes in 1955 the new number series tractors had live hydraulics, and that part was nice change, but on brute lift the old H and M liftall was no joke.

I used to have a Farmall H several years ago. It would easily lift my 990 9' IH haybine. I also it used on the neighbor's 9' NH 489, which lifts the whole machine, not just the header.

If your hydraulics are working properly, I don't think this would be a limiting factor.
