What size are the tires, and what kind are they? If it has 195-70R14 PASSENGER CAR Radials, it would be able to carry about 2 1/2 tons or so without overloading. If it has 11L-15 IMPLEMENT Tires, it is worth a lot more, and will be able to carry perhaps the 6 tons or so that the trires would be rated for.

What is the weight rating of the wagon gear?

Does it track straight behind a pickup truck @ 45mph or does it "wobble" all over the road?

What condition are the wheel bearings?

Just for comparison, $350-400 would get you a good, if 50 year old John Deere 953 running gear (4t) with no rack. A NEW hayrack can cost $300-400 for just the materials (having rebuilt several in the past four years I know! what the cost is). If the rack on the wagon is relatively solid, not needing any visible repairs, if the tires are the heavy duty IMPLEMENT 11L-15 or 9.5L-15 tires, and if you like the looks of the wagon and it does not "shimmy" down the road behind your truck, I would say GO FOR IT!

If memory serves me right, the Oliver gears were built by Electric Wheel. Good gears. If it's 5-ton or bigger with a good deck on it, I think it's worth it.
