I have a 5' sickle bar mower that I would like to get some info on. It has "IH" stamped on most parts. I am trying to figure out who made it (International Harvester??), what year / model it is, how does it mount, what is it made to mount to (e.g. fords, farmalls, etc), can it be used for angle mowing or only level, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dale

Your sickle mower is an IH C-22 made to fit only offset Farmalls. You particular mobel fits the cub. The one for the SA, 100, etc. has slightly different mounting brackets.

Thank you both very much. Couple follow-ups. Can it mow in various positions or just level? Any idea what year it is? Can you get parts? Any place I can find more info about it?

I have a 49 8N and a bush hog, so I doubt I will be keeping it. I have a coworker who has a Cub as well as a pond on his property that needs mowing around. I have a buyer and he doesn't even know it yet!! Ha Ha

Thank you

Dale,
As a kid, I mowed many acres of hay with one of these mowers on our 49 Cub. It is a good mid-mount mower and was relatively trouble free. It does have limitations as to the angle that it can mow at, hill sides, berms or ditches but it works great on level ground. E-mail me if you have any other questions.
Good Luck!
