If you want a real haybine get New Holland. I sold my New Holland 467 7ft this spring. I got $1000 for it. It worked really good. It was just to small for big baling hay. If you buy any haybine make sure if it has rubber rollers that the rubber is good.

You don't want rubber missing. Dry rot is also bad.
Make sure you turn the rollers all the way around. If other things are in need of repair, that's fine. If the rollers are bad. DON'T BUY IT! There $$$ if you can still get them.

I have a case 555 windroller. Yes, it's getting old and I have had problems with all of the bearings in the pittman arm, I pull it with a case 930 diesel and a IH1466, does a good job, however, junk parts are hard to find, some new parts are still available. If you want a specific picture, let me know and I can take a close up of that area. Would not mind having a junker to keep mine going for a few more years, let me know if you know where a parts machine may be.

A CASE 555 is for all practical purposes, a Heston PT10 mower conditioner. I once had one, It cut hay and didn't do too bad a job when it was a lot newer, but after it got to be old, it needed much maintenence and that is when I found out that old Heston PT10s were your best parts source. The CASEih dealer wasn't much help.

There are MANY better quality mower conditioners out there, so if I might ask, why would you want one of "those" when you could have a John Deere or a New Holland?????

A CASE 555/aka Hesston PT10 is a nine foot model. It will reguire at least one, single acting hydraulic outlet. If you need a seven footer, try and locate a NH 467 or a JD 1207. They both have parts support and were pretty well made machines. If you purchase a CASE 555, I hope you are good at fixing things. And cleaning out clogged hay.JMHO&A

Would a person be able to find a NH467 in the $500 Range?

I believe his tractor has limited power & hydraulics, and someone suggested this would work. I'm only familiar with the JD 1209 I have, so I don't want to comment on this part of it. I do believe, with all the changes Case went through, that parts might well be an issue.

You might want to search through the many equipment listings on the internet for pics & relative prices - such as >Link
