I have a two bottom ferguson sherman plow and I have found both red and grey paint on it and was wondering what color it was painted orginally? Thanks Bob

Bob Ihave aferguson sherman A o14plow thatwasbought new by my DAD in the early 50's.Itispainted red.
They are good plows.

They were dark (battleship) gray like the Ford/Ferguson 9N tractor they were sold with. The Ferguson/Sherman name was on the ID plate from 1939-1942 then the plate just said Ferguson after 1942.

I think the Fergusons were red.
The Dearborn plows were gray.

I checked all my references. Ferguson equipment was gray until the Massey Harris merger. All Dearborn was red. No crossovers. Whoever is telling people otherwise has bad info. I have some Ferguson stuff that was bought new by my grandfather in the late 40's (and a 1940 Ferguson-Sherman 2-row cultivator) and it's all gray. My Dearborn manure loader and the Dearborn/Danuser blade are/were both red.
