I have been pulling my hair out all day with this.
I am trying to put the drive chain back onto the pick up assembly. No matter what I try its to short. Now I know it fits because it came off of it.
Whats the trick for putting these on?
After I figure that out. I noticed the chain gaurd is attached with the same bilts that hold the pulleys. I can just guess how thats going to go.
I had to get out of the shop as I was starting to look for my sledge hammer... Thats not a good thing.

Did you replace a worn out bearing in that drive line? Then the existing chain could be too short, and you need an extra link or a half-link (offset link) to make up for the difference in length with the new bearing. There should also be a tightner in the system.

That cant be it. The chain from my parts machine and the working baler sre the same size.
There must be some speacial way that these things go on. If some one has done this b4 I am sure they know what I am talking about.

I had to run it a different way. Or maybe I just remembered ot wrong. But its on.
I went to a couple of dealers that have 68s on thier lots and looked how thiers were.
There must be one way it comes from the dealer and a different way when you take it off the first time.

Just give up on the baler for a little while and go back to work on your H. We miss your posts on the Farmall forum. :)
