I pulled 9 shanks with a 560D turned up to about 85 horse. Had the power just not enough weight so I got a 1256 no problem now except I need a bigger chisel plow. isnt that how it is suposed to work? Brian

Somebody told me years ago that you need 10 hp per tooth on a chisel plow. I guess it must be true. I have a five tooth plow that I can pull with my Ford 850, but not with my Farmall B. Want to really have fun I weight it down and pull it with a 4020. I can really plow some ground with that set up.

A _little_ screwed up??? ;)

Anyhow, I've pulled a 10' 10 point (2" straight) chisel plow with a 85 hp tractor, but didn't think it did a good job. Much happier with a 140 hp tractor on a 10 point, 12' chisel plow now. :)
