Wouldn't it be much easier to get some hard maple and make some new wooden bearings ? Remember , those original bearing lasted years with proper greasing. By the way , the straw-walker bearings in my JD3300 combine are wood as well.

I'd be a little leary of the HDPE for bearings. I work with this stuff on occation, and know that it tends to warp easilly, has a rather low melting temp, and is rather soft. I believe the newer P3 series is a harder material, but not sure about the other things. I'd have to say it would most likely not work well, especially for a disk....lots of rotating on a heavy unit, and you would have holes opened up (warp and disfigurement), and material melting.

You could also try McMaster-Carr for UHMW. I believe they stock it in round sections

I comes in stock sizes and is available from plastic houses like Cadillic plastic. I have seen it used to make rollers for cement mixers.

Hard maple would work really well. Try the internet for a source.
