Dear all,
I was wondering what the dimensions are foe this baler and weight as there is one at an auction in a weeks time. I would like to know in regards to transportation just in case.

I have read quite a few different opinions on there balers, some say good and others not (the IH 46 anyway, I assume that the B46 is just a 46 made in Britain or Australia). I would go after a New Holland if there was one cheap but in Australia they hold there value very well.

Thanks for comments in advance,
Damon

I have been given an IH B46 baler but it needs lots of work. Does anyone have any information on this machine, photos, etc?

There is a very good reason why New Holland balers hold there value. Look at it from point of cost per bale, you will find NH quite reasonable.

I have a 46 baler it is 8 feet wide x 16 long. Dont know the weight? Not that heavy. If you dont get this one look for a 430 they have a wider pickup.Have fun at the sale.

Uncle Carl bought one new in 1958? sold it in 2000 at his farm sale. probably only baled 400-500,000 bales as was not used as much in the ninety's. 25-30,000 bales a year first ten to tweleve years then only about 15,000 a year after that dropping down to 8-10,000 late eighties. Would miss tie about 15 - 20 bales a year, most of the time when I tied the second roll of twine to the first one. Always had an extra wheel/tire on the chamber side had no air in it would get thru the wet spots in the field better. Only time every rained on was week before sale then rained on twice. Never left out over night!! always cleaned, oiled and lubed.
