I'm looking in the local area (Southeast Queensland, Australia) for a 3 pt reversible scoop. No one around here has heard of a "reversible" scoop. There are plenty of scoops around, but can't find a "reversible".

Can any one refer me to a web site that shows a "reversible" scoop or maybe plans for building such a scoop?

Thanks!!

www.cadplans.com has a plan for one if you would want to build one yourself. Shouldn't really be that bad to build. Might be the best route to go considering there is none around you there.

Burr,

Thanks for the link. That is exactly what I'm looking for. If I can't find one, might have to weld one up. What size angle do you reckon is used for the scoop frame, and guage metal for the scoop?

Any construction tips or comments??

TJ

I'll have to check the gage of the bucket but the angle iron is 3" X 3" X 1/4".

My bucket is 30"L X 30"W and 12" deep.

If ye mount the swivel pin in the dead center of the sides it will flip open with a minimum amount of pressure on yer trip rope.

If ye want to ye can email me and I'll send some pix of a frame and measurements.

Burr,

thanks for the pic. As they say "one picture is worth....".

Couple of questions:

Is the scoop front lip same guage as the rest of the scoop?

From the picture seems the sides of the scoop get more narrow near the bottm of the sccop. Was this accomplished by bending the sides or welding two pieces of material at an angle??

Thanks again for the great picture.

Regards,

JW

The bucket is bent from the factory, but as soon as it rust away then everybody welds joints and puts the bend in there when making a new bucket.

The front of the bucket has 1/4" flat iron welded the full length of the lip.

They weld a heavy steel washer on the pivot holes for reinforcement.
