Does a Ford 8N has enough horsepower to handle a Allis Chalmers 303 square baler? The field is level and I won't be pulling a trailer.
Thanks

Be sure you have an o.r.c. (over riding clutch)The right one adapt you to a large p.t.o. also. It will pull it but may not stop it. Good luck, Kevin

Yes, Marginally but greater concern than horsepower would be having a rigid drawbar of some sort.

Thanks for the reply, are you refering to using the swinging drawbar (with stopper pins installed) as opposed to the 3 point drawbar?
Bill

Either work ok as long as it is rigid. I think the awinging drawbar which goes under the belly of tractor would be much better than anything which goes on lift arms. HAPPY HAYING

using a 3 point draw bar puts the pivot point for the tongue out of place and is terribly bad on the pto shaft.
