I talked to a guy on the phone today that says he has a JD 660 combine back in the shed and wants to sell it. Are these rare, I have never heard of them? Also what are they worth. He says it will run with a little work. It is selfpropelled and has a cab. Other than that I don't know much about it. Thanks for the help.

Mike, Why don't you post back if you see this combine. I don't think I've ever seen any info on a Deere 660 combine, especially since it has a cab. They, of course made 40, 45, 55, 95 in two row but I'm not even sure if you could get a factory cab on the 40.

Mike: Never heard tell of a JD 660. The 6600 was quite common, many of them 4 or a few 6 row. I believe I did see that number on a Case once and it would have been size for 2 row. The one I saw had a 10' grain platform.

I forgot to say it is a two row machine. I wander what number it could be if it isn't 660. I'll have to go check it out.

Maybe it's really a 6600?
Deere did export some German-built machines to Canada back in late '60s early '70s, but I don't recall there being a 660 from the Zweibrucken plant.
