I purchased an old set of discs that had been sitting out for years. Should the edge of the discs be shrapened for best performance? All bearings are free and it does roll ok just rusty.
Thanks

I don't think sharpening would make much difference. Pulling them through the ground will probably clean them up as good as they're going to get.

If you look real hard you might find a disk sharpener service - they do _not_ grind them, they have a special press that rolls the edges sharp again. But it shouldn't be needed, and I would not take any material off the blades with a grinder, they wear down fast enough as it is.

Rolling make the blades brittle and they break a lot easier

Just check the blades to insure thet are not cracked anywhere on the outside edges. If they are cracked that's where they will break.

As far as sharpenig. Forhget it, just put a few old cinderblocks on top of the frame to sink it deeper in the ground. They will get as sharp as they ever will. MAKE SURE YOU GREASE IT FIRST>
