How do you know which model a set of cutivators is? What color is correct? I have a set of cultivators for an H or M that seem to have blue paint on them. They are equipped with hand lift or hydraulic lift and are "steerable." We are going to use them in corn/sorghum but my boy is going to show the tractor/cultivator at the county fair. Thanks.

I have a steerable set for a H/M with the handles to move shovels closer to the row. All of the square shaft is blue, shanks and mounts (eye with wedge bolts) were black. Mounting frames were red. I'm pretty sure it is a F-12/F-14 cultivator with hydraulic cylinders. I think it is a model HM-223. Don't hold me to all of this as I'm not absolutely certain, but this is all to the best of my knowledge. 238's weren't steerable. I can find a manual for a 238, and 250, but not a 236 or the steerable ones. I can't post the name here-it's not YT-MAG- as it won't allow me to post when I include their name. Begins with a J ends in ensales, add a .com. AG

Sounds like you have a 238 they have 2 short levers and small cylinder on each side. The 238 was red and blue in color. Can be used on h or m.They also made a 250 later model think it was red and blue. Don't remember them being steerable. Only from the tractor. The m is 2 inches wider than the h . So you would have to adjust arms on front to fit each tractor. Also made a 4 row used on the m. it's best to have powersteering with the 4 row. Nice with 2 row come to think of it. These had a section that went on back of tractor.

Ive seen several sets of Farmall cutivators for H and M. They will interchange with no problem as they mout to holes on the side of the frames. You might have to do somthing different with the angle brace on either sidew that goes fro the cultivator up to the top of the radiator, I dont kn ow. Dad had a 4 H, M uncle had a 41 H next door, and the cultivators were identical. Dads got my othert uncles 41 M, but he never put any cultivators on it. I never saw steerible cultivators for H or a M. Ive seen them ( I guess) for F 20 or F30. When they made the cultivators for the H and M, the took away 1/2 of the iron they had used for the 20m and 30, and 2/3s of the levers
