I have a Ferguson F40. I plan to use the tractor on my 3.5 acres to clean up the horse area and keep the road and other areas clear. I also plan to use it at my other ten acre property to keep the roads up and do brushing and clean up work. I have a disc and spring tooth harrow. I want to get either a box scraper or disc. Can anyone give me any suggestions.
Thanks Gary

Gary, we currently use a box scraper around the farm. Fast to move material with and if you get one with a detachable pole you can pull it and do alot better job of leveling. You do not mention moving snow, however it is great there also, with it on the three point you have lots of traction and it is quicker then a loader and no maintaince other then the cutting edge. We pull the material into a spot and then push the snow backwards to pile it. This is my personal preference. Good Luck

Gary, the idea I am talking about is you can have a box scraper that pulls behind like a piece of equipment or uhhook the hitch and guage wheels from behind and use it on the three point. The pull behind does a way better job of leveling, being it does not follow the travel of the tractor over uneven terrain. Works good and very simple. As far as chains with the three point box scraper you can do alot just with the bare tires. We do not have any hills to contend with though. Good luck and take a peak at box scrapers on the web, few models to look at. I have a cammond corral style myself. Sorry for the long message. Here's to you from northern Minnesota.
