i have found a 5 foot oliver pull type tool carrier. It is a rope pickup. Right now it has 3 stiff shanks like 3 subsoilers. I want to change it it has plenty of holes to add other types of shanks. Now i want it to be like a field cultivator. Something i can use to break up the top of the ground. Now what would be the best type of shanks the easiest to find and also price is a factor. But now someone help me if youve got an answer. Thanks Chris

I agree with what Paul says. Unless you can find an old row-crop cultivator that you can use the shanks off of, it isn't worth putting the money into to make into a field cultivator. Around here, old 4-row wide cultivators usually sell for next to nothing.

I suppose you didn't get many answers the first time, as it just is very expensive to make such changes to old equipment. The machine is worth less than $100, and to buy new cultivator gangs would run you up to $1000 real quick.

You are best to go find the implement you want, again for $100 or so, and leave this one as what it is, a chisel plow it sounds like?

Just how it is. There is no cheap way to do what you want. Unless you already have a bunch of extra cultivator gangs sitting in your grove.
