I have a setup manual for an IH 45 Vibra Shank. It shows 6, 8 and 10 inch spacing. It shows how to achive this on frame. There is a latout plan for each spacing.

Well, if you use 4" shovels, about 6" apart would be great. However, if you are trying to put this on one bar, you will just make a trash rake. You need to stagger them on 3 (or so) different beams, so they are 18" or more apart from each other.

I have a MInneapolis Moline field cultivator and the manual suggests 6" spacing for normal conditions and 9" spacing for heavy trash.

Chris, the most common is six inch, that is on a conventional cultivator. If you are using danish tines or the old spring tooth with a spike tooth shovel you can go closer as long as you are not working in a trashy condition. If you go six and stagger the path they travel youshould be satsified. Good Luck, and do what you feel most comfortable with.
