These I have locally for about the same price pros/cons any advice between the two would be greatly appreciated.

Will be pulled by a YM1500 2wd 18 Hp YANMAR tractor over pretty flat terrain.

Thanks ahead of time,
Joe D.

Am i right, those are 60" mowers?? If so, are you sure you have enough PTO hp to run them in all but short grass? I'm asumeing you are refering to 18 engine hp not pto hp? If it's engine hp, it wouldn't be enough to run a 60" mower in my grass! Robert

Yes, you are right the mowers are 60" but according to an earlier postings.
I should be able to mow just fine with a 60” mower.
If the grass gets to long I do have a 48” rotary mower.

Thanks for the response, have a good weekend,
Joe D.

My friend uses a 60" 3 point mower on his 26 pto hp tractor, and on hot days it will border line over heat his tractor. He mows in the cool of the morning if the grass is taller. I had a Kubota 27 pto hp tractor, and in "heavy" grass with a 72" brush hog, it would over heat, and i had to stop. I don't think 18 hp (engine hp?) will be enough for a 60" "finisher" mower. I wouldn't buy one untill i tried it on my tractor on a hot day, or you are going to end up with burnt valve guides or???? My expierence has been if you overheat a compact one time, you've already done damage. The above Kubota ran near (near not in) the red for about 30 minutes, and after that day every time i started it, a big puff of oil smoke came out of the exaust. My guess is the valve guides were burnt. Others i know have had similar expierences. Hope it works out for you, Robert
