I have a couple of 8 foot John Deere disc harrows with a single iron pipe for a drag. I am not very happy with the results because the soil remains uneven and too coarse. What are some other ideas for harrow drags?

THE PIPE MIGHT NOT BE THE BEST DRAG TO USE.I HAVE FOUND THAT THE PIPE DOES NOT LET A LOT OF DIRT RIDED IN FRONT OF IT . I USE TWO 8X8 POST 11FT LONG PUT UP ON THE EDGE (LIKE IN A DIMOND SHAPE) WITH TO PICE OF ALL THARED BETWEEN THEM. ABOUT A FOOT A PART.THIS DOES A GOOD JOB A LEVELING THE GROUND. I PULL THIS BEHIND A 10FT DISK AND A 2 SECTION HARROW AND IT DID A GOOD JOB AT BRAKING UP THE GROUND AND LEVELING IT.

Lotta folks hitch a spike-tooth or a spring-tooth drag behind the disk harrow if the tractor they're using has the power to pull both. My brother uses a piece of pipe onto which he welded short (6-8") pieces of rebar as teeth, about every 6". The pipe is cut to match the width of the implement.
