I have found an offset disk plow. About 6 feet wide, John Deere, 3 transport wheels. Remote hydrolic cylinder lifted, pull-type plow. Label says "John Deere - Killer Co. 6 X H-03" Has box bushing greaseable type bearings. Has anyone seen one of these? Does anyone know when made? Any info appreciated. Thank You.

Does it look something like this? This is called a disk tiller. Kind of an intermediate between a disk and a disk-plow. Does a terriffic job of cutting up hard sod! This one looks like the lift is manual - with the rear facing crank. The one we had had a hyd. cylinder there. Note the very heavy cast wheels. When you pushed the hydraulic lever, this thing was going down! We usually went over a field twice. Second pass at 90 degree angle to first. Sod was then very effectively cut up. Second pass was a pretty rough ride, however!

Many years ago JD bought out a company named Kilifer. I'm not sure of the spelling but I'm sure someone will help me out. They made tillage equipment. For some time JD put both names on that line of tillage tools. Ed

You are calling it a off set disc plow, but your description doesn't suit. Does this have single mounts for each disc same configuration as moalboard plow, or does it have a single arbor bolt through a series of discs?

Hugh, thanks for the response. Here in Tex we call this an "offset disk plow". It has a single axle for each gang of disks. When each disk is on a separate strut, we call it a "disk breaking plow". A "tandem disk" has 4 gangs in a sort of an X layout. An "offset disk plow" has on 2 gangs, one throwing right and one throwing left. Can you help me with the serial number, manufacturer, date made, etc? Any help appreciated.

I just wanted to be sure we were talking about the same disc. My concern was that you might have been describing a Diskall or disc tiller. The item or did I misread it 3 wheels threw me. I bought one of these off set discs (and that is how we named them, we didn't use word plow) in mid 1970s 26" discs and 24 plate about 10" spacing between plates. The one I bought was built by Bush Hog. I also had one of their tandem 20 footers.

I didn't quite follow, were you suggesting this machine was built by someone else for John Deere. Or have I got that all wrong? How old does this disc appear to be? When I bought mine not a lot of companies were building off sets. Does this disc use a standard 8 inch stroke implement cylinder? I am just raising these questions, thinking it may spark someone's memory. All of a sudden someone will say, I remember that.
