I am looking for information on the Ferguson 3 ton tipping trailer that I am going to start renovating.

At the moment it has no timber bed or sides, the main steel work is in good condition and the hydraulics work and it tips.

What I am looking for is info on timber sizes for the bed and sides, all so the height of the sides, (the sides drop into slots in the bed and do not hinge down like the MF trailer)

If anyone can help I would be pleased to hear from you.

Thanks in advance,

Bob.

Get a copy of Ferguson Implements and Accessories by John Farnworth, Copyrite 1996, Published by Farming Press, Miller Freeman Professional Ltd, Warfdale Road, Ipswich IP1 4LG, United Kingdom.

Page 72, 73, 74 have some good pictures on, sizes given 2.75 cu yd capacity, internal body dimensions of 9 ft 10 in x 5 ft 11 in and steel formed stakes on side boards that held wood stakes for side board extensions with 2 boards per side that apear to be about 15" high and back end with 2 boards high on strap iron with hinges on bottom to tilt down, with the grain extensions as shown on page 87 it shows 3 boards on both the main boards as well as the extensiona with full height steel tailgate, also silage sides. If this does not gige you the information ypou need email me in Ohio, USA

Bob:

I don't know if that particular Ferguson piece of equipment was ever sold here in the States or not. *But* I had some success getting a couple of old Ferguson implement manuals from, I believe, Agco who I think owns Massey-Ferguson.

I went to my local Massey-Ferguson dealer first and was told the manuals were not available. Well, I did a web search and wrote to the corporate headquarters asking for their help in locating the manuals. They obviously did a lot of work and found the manuals in one of their technical libraries--I even got several update emails over the course of about 2-3 weeks as they searched! They made copies of the old manuals and mailed them to me gratis...surprised the heck out of me, but I guess the good will was worth it to them.

Thanks for the reply Tom, but I have been sent an Instruction book on the trailer which is very good exept on close up pictures of the trailer sides which it are missing on mine.

Thanks again, this is the first time I have seen this section on this site and its nice to know there are others out there looking at it
