John: I am just getting ready to go away for day, I skiped through my book on old plows. I didn't find anything on A-98 or 498. I will look more closely this evening. One item common to all these plows is they use A, B, C, H or M as a prefix depending on which tractor it was designed to fit. For example there probably is a A-98, B-98, etc. One item is almost certain, your plow was built between 1939 and 1954 and is designed to fit a Farmall A or SA. Could also be specific to V models. Is this plow 1 furrow or 2, possibly one each way? Tell me just a bit more.

John: Pardon me, I was looking in moleboard plows. The 98 disc plow was built between 1940 and 1963. Over 9,000 were built. In the book I have it doesn't mention the letter designation. It does not mention sizes, other than to say a 7 disc weighed 3,000 lbs.
