High Pressure Water Wash Pump Driven Off PTO?

I was thinking about buying a pressure washer for use around the farm / house and got the idea of running it off the PTO of my tractor. I really don't need another small engine around to maintain, change oil etc. I see new pumps on ebay for $100 or so and thought one could be adapted to be PTO driven. Has anyone seen this done? Is there something already on the market? My only concern is that the 540 PTO I have is too slow if I drive the pump directly. Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Andrew

Whatever pump you're looking at, just determine the speed it is made to run at, and use proper sized pulleys on the pto drive to attain the same speed. If it's direct drive from an electric motor, it's likely to run 1725. Motor nameplate should have the speed. If it is belt drive, determine the speed according to the size of the pulleys.
