Hopefully there will be a picture of a picture of a disc with this post.
Can anyone identify it for me?
The picture is not of my disc, but i have one just like it.
Anyone know where I can get replacement bearings?

thanks,
garth

Leroy is right, the disc does not have sealed bearings. Were bushings ever made from something other than wood? The disc is a couple hours from my house, but next time I'm there I will take it apart.
thanks for your help
garth

The older bearings were either made with the wood boxings or were instead of having replaceble wear parts were the housing was made to be the wear part. You can tell by the way it was made if it had wood in or not, the steel bearing can have a lot of wear and still work, orignal wood boxing was hard maple, am now in prosses of making for my Dunham

Garth,
Can't tell from the picture, but you will need to see what type of bearings it has. If it is the sealed roller bearings like modern disks have then Hugh is right, just take one to a bearing shop. If it has plain old bushings, that your grease, then your search may be more difficult. Good luck.

Your disc is similar too but not exact as one MF sold 40 years ago. Discs are not a big problem on bearings. Take a bearing off, go to a good bearing store, they will be able to match it up. Only really three items they need know inside diameter, outside diameter and the fact that it has heavy side presure. Spacers and disc blades are several types most farm stores can sell replacments from seeing a used one.
