I have a 3-14 IH 2pt. fully mounted plow. It has the steel angled trail wheel, but no furrow wheel. Plow Chief slat bottoms are on it. The plow is not the channel style frame, but instead looks like a square frame plow(like a no.60, etc.) minus the square frame. It is complete and properly braced, and not "cobbled up" in any way. Any ideas on the model? Sorry no pic. Thanks alot, AG.

If it does not have the box type beam across the top then it is a 309. Was available with shear pin or trip beams and your choice of bottoms.

AG: I looked through the book 150 Years of IH. They don't go much into the fast hitch plows. They show one only No.411, says 16" only and avaliable in 3,4 and 5 bottom. These plows have trip bottoms. Also has the box type diagnol beam similar to the No.60

There were two plows I remember from memory being the 26 and 36 being 2 and 3 furrow respectively. I can't remember whether these plows were trip bottoms or not. Probably not as these plows were mid 50s vintage. The No.60 came out around 1962 and I believe that was the first of the trip bottom plows. The 530, 540, 550 and 560 semi-mounts came a year or two later. Your plow is probably one of the mounted plows from the early 60s. There are some model numbers I am missing in all of this, and they are fast hitch mounted plows. I was quite heavy into trailer plows in those days, and didn't pay a whole lot of attention to mounted plows. Sorry I couldn't be more help, may be this will spark someone else's memory.
