Did this as a kid with a springtooth harrow and a cultipacker behind a John Deere B.

Make a pass diagonally corner to corner across the field. Picture it as from the lower right corner to the upper left corner of a square.

Make a second pass in the opposite direction one width over from the first pass. When you get back to the original corner, you'll turn just inside the corner, across the first pass and make a return run on the far side of the original pass.

On each round, the long pass will get shorter and the cross pass will get longer, until you wind up doing a full diagonal from upper right to lower left.

The object is that you cover the entire field twice.
