I have a plow that has many of the same features as the one in a recent post. Other than it is on rubber (6.00 16) which appear to be original and it is a 2-14. The tail wheel is the same and it is a ground turn. There are two numbers, one on each plow arm but I suspect they are part numbers. If need be I will post them here later. Any idea on model?

farmer in the dells, have a 1 bottom plow and a 2 bottom plow both are # 8 built at P&O works, I know for a fact the 1 bottom was bought new in 1936. the lift on both are the same.

kj: Do you have a manual or any other literature, for that single bottom plow. I am not suggesting this plow doesn't exist. There is another thread earlier on this plow posted by FM along with a picture, same plow as Farmer in Del has posted, so there is no question the plow does exist.

We have been unable to find anything on paper saying IH ever produced a single bottom No.8 Read the thread below and give us your thoughts. If you have any printed material on this plow, I am sure Mike and some others would like to hear about it.

Mike: When I come to a discussion like this and the other discussion on the same subject, I read all the discussion that has taken place before I start sniping at someone. I is quite obvious you have read very little of this discussion, as I at no time have said this plow doesn't exist. May I suggest you take the time to do some reading.

I have a John Deere model 400 7' rotary hoe, John Deere never built such an item. IH may never have built some items that are out there either.

kj: She is no spring chick if she remembers that, then again she is probably only ten years older than I. That must have been quite an event getting a new F-14, plow, disc and 2 row cultivator all on the same day and in the late 1930s. Probably was a $1,500. purchase, a lot of coin in the dirty thirties. There were however, farmers thrifty enough to do this, tractor production numbers speak loud and clear.

There is no question on a 2 furrow with these same features including the tail wheel. And yes even on rubber as they were available that way. It is a Little Genius No. 8 They were built from 1928 to 1960. I suspect rubber tires came in 15 years following the war. The only plow in question is this single furrow, in print they don't seem to exist. Read the other thread down the page.

Thank you Hugh. Figured you would know and was hoping you would reply. So until I hear different, a little Genius #8 it is. If I get ahold of a camera I'll get a picture of it on the implement picture page.
