After reading the threads about the 1 bottom Little Genius #8, I thought I would try to clear up wheather it was built. In my IHC Farm Operating Equipment Book #40 (1939),it shows on it's own page a #8 Little Genius 1 bottom with 18 inch bottom. On the bottom of page it also shows a 2B with 18 inch bottoms. In the same book it also shows Little Genius's #10,11,12,Little Wonder 2 and 3,Orchard Teactor Plows #23,24,Two Way 37 and Two-Way Roll-Over#39.
Also many Disk Plows and Horse Plows.

ihkovas: I figured if we hashed this around long enough someone would dig up some IH literature, in the form of either manual, parts book or sales literature. I had a personal e mail from another guy last evening showing the frame of the one bottom plow in the parts book. We both posted that fact on the thread created by FM. There is actually 3 threads going on currently on this subject, now this will make 4.

In the very early part of this whole debate, several people were stating either having one of those plows or knowing of one. They were questioning why they couldn't find it in a manual. Hindsight is great and looking back on this now I suspect the 1 bottom plow probably didn't have as long of production as the 2, 3 and 4 bottom models, thus the reason for manuals being out there not showing the one bottom plow. The No. 8 Little Genius plows had a 30 year production run. That is quite long, probably more than 1 or 2 set of literature printed. Can you post any pictures?

According to the book 150 Years of IH there were actually 5 bottom Little Genius plows produced. I would be willing to bet we could start this discussion all over again as I doubt the 4 and 5 bottom plows show up in all manuals either.
