My 6' bushhog of 30 years plus has finally given up the ghost. Can't patch it anymore. I need to know what brands to consider and which ones to avoid like the plague.

Thanks,
Tanklord

I bought, what I believe to be the Cadillac of rotary brush mowers for $2300, - the Wood's Brush Bull. I wanted a heavy duty mower and that's what I got! It's built tough and in the long run, I suspect that it'll be the last one I'll buy. Sometimes you either pay up-front or pay after the fact to keep it running.

I like Woods the best. Their Brush Bull is the best design i've seen made today. I've had several cutters over the years, but the two Woods i own now are the best cutters i've owned. The one to avoid, is any rotary cutter that's NOT heavy duty! Robert

Bush Hog brand, Woods, Land Pride and King Kutter get pretty good reviews on this board. Probably Bush Hog and Woods for the heavy duty end of the scale, LP and KK for medium duty.

Most folks aren't too thrilled with Howse except for very light duty where price is the major concern.

I only have direct experience with a Medium-light duty Woods, an M5 and it's been a dandy machine for me.
