I am looking for a cheap haybine and saw both a ford and an allis chalmers in the paper. I have never seen an allis chalmers and maybe one ford. Any opinions or experience with either make? Would parts be possible to get? Thanks a lot.

have a Ford 535 that is for sale. Is the twin to both a MF and NI so parts are all around. Needs 1 part. I am going with a hydro turn after getting a larger tractor to pull it. Priced right at $350 plus your shipping the part needed costs $200 or less depending who sells it to you.

Forget the Allis-Chalmers. They made it themselves, then quit the hay business in 1975. Parts are not available. The Ford would be a better choice, as Ford's mower-conditioners were made by other companies. Most of them came from New Idea. Parts would be more common.
