Well, tonight I hooked onto my little 2-14 (I think it's a little genious) plow tonight with my 165 gas for a little space to seed it down for cow pasture. The moldboards shined up ok, but they are pretty badly pitted from sitting in our machine shed for well over 30 years, and the tail wheel is half gone, where it sunk into the dirt and completely rusted off. For the most part, it works ok, but now the clutch to raise it up likes to slip when I pull the rope, and sometimes it doesn't trip for a while and raise up again. What is the cause of this? The wheel keeps turning, but it still slips back down. Also- Anybody know if new landslides are still available for these plows? mine are just about shot, and I would like to replace them sometime soon.

You may need a new spring inside the clutch. I believe it is still available from IH dealer.
the dealer might be able to get landsides or try www.farmerbrownsplowshop.bigstep.com
if you need a spring for inside the clutch i believe the part number is PO38.

thats my project for next week. I think I have the same plow and my 1850 won't even know its back there. I put 160 bales in the barn today. Was last years growth that needed to be taken off and I was trying out a new to me 14 t that I brought home today. A little grease here, a little oil there, two new balls of sisal and never missed a knot. Here comes summer. By the way, how big is the center hole and how many lugs are on your tail wheel? I may have one I could part with.

I think, without lookin at it, that it doesn't have a center hole, and I think it's a 4-bolt. It aint gonna be fixed up anytime soon, so I may just weld a peice of flat steel and bend it around in a half circle just so it can go 'round again. My 165 toys with it also, unless I hit some real heavy clay. Tonight I made sure to hit ALL the grease zerks and the clutch worked pretty good, so it must've just been a little dry inside. Also pulled out my JD VanBrunt drill and got that greased up and ready to go, for the most part. I still gotta see about mounting a hitch in the middle for my new-to-me spike-tooth drag, As it has 2 off set for my crushers already.
Also, can you beleive, I haven't had to use my disk at all over the last 2 years!? Ground is breaking up real nice lately with my 20 ft. spring tooth cultivator
