Dose any one remember the Grahm chisel plows? We had one when I was about 16, it was a pull type hydrulic cly lift. I found one in the weeds about a 150 miles away, and bought it to use on my small farm. Dose any one, remember how they were lettered? how the name was wrote? was the name 2 words like Grahm - brady ? All I can rember is they were sliver frame and Green, or blue wheels? What color was the lettering? What was company History? Thanks Dann

we hava a grahm hoeme heavy duty plow on our land. it was here when we purchased the place.
this plow is hydralic and very heavy. i am trying to find some information on it. the serial # is A2214, i believe it's called a chisel plow (12.5 ft wide). we would like to sell it, but if we can bring more money for scraps we would rather do that. if you have any info please let me know. thanks, darlene in texas

maybe someone should load some up and bring around here. i havent seen one for a 3-4 plow tractor size in years around here. back when people could still make a living farming i got beat by the one guy who just wanted it to use where old fence rows where. i might just buy a snap coupler plow and convert it to a chisel if i can use the mold boards on my present plow.

Dann, It was the Graham-Hoeme Plow Co. @ Amarillo,Texas. pronounsed (Hayme) The models were carried a letter nomenclature. Yes, they were made out of I-beam steel painter with Aliminized paint with green wheels. Most were lever controled, though some have been converted to Hydraulic.
I have bought 2 of them north of Dumas, TX . They can be bought all day long for less than $100.
The one here at the house is a K model.
The Company hasn't been around for 25 or so yrs.
Hopes this helps!
Good luck,
John A.

My Dad and Grandpa used to sell these chisel plows, mostly the 3-point variety. Very tough plows, sometimes trash buildup in bean fields, but all in all a good chisel. Ours is 13 foot, and will make our Case 2290 grunt pretty hard if we get to deep.

I recently found one on our farm and was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to get a couple shanks for them. Hopefully I can get it restored.

The G/H chisels are still kept around in working order in areas where cropland might erode from the wind.

Among all of the other features, there were two designs. Both a high clearance and a low clearance model.

Most had chisels on them, although they were often outfitted with 18 inch sweeps. I also have one and have a rod weeder attachment that was purchased with it at auction. It also came with bolt-on extensions. I don't know what other options there might have been.

As John A. stated they sell for around $100, which I consider salvage value of the metal in them.

Yes, they are a good workhorse and tough to tear up.

I've recentley pulled our G/H chisel plow out of the bushes. My daddy had broke a couple of the shanks years ago but everything else in in good shape. Our plow is a pull behind model with two tires for on road transport. And I'm sure when I get it fixed it'll be good as new.
