Pros and cons of owning a 420 IH baler and the value of one. On a scale of 1-10 I would say this one is a 7. What years were they built? THANKS.

I had a 420 that for some reason wouldn't roll and bale at the same time. It looked like new and wasn't worth 2 cents. It would make 20 bales in a row on the barn floor, take it out in the field and it would make 2, miss 3. It would brake twine, hold knots, fail to tie the knot. Left me with a pretty low opinion of IH stuff. Though I must say I have several other IH pieces that have been very reliable. I understand the larger balers in that series 430 and 440 are better units. I was very happy the day that baler left. Don't mean to offend any one, just my $0.02. Roy
