Either of those machines have plenty of power to pull a 6 foot rotary brush cutter or a 7-8 foot finish mower. It depends on what you want to cut.....

I happen to have both of those tractors, and I use a 6 ft. It works very well

Kinda depaends on what you're mowing. A Bushhog type is OK for general mowing of roadsides or heavy brush that you are mowing once a month. If you are mowing a lawn, a finishing mower will do a better job. As far as size goes, a 6 foot will cover your wheel tracks.
I am using a 7 foot finishing mower behind a 1945 WC and it does just fine.
